Dr. Chen has an exceptional multidisciplinary background in the biosciences from the molecular to the clinical level. After initially practicing medicine, her passion for tumor immunology from her masters and PhD days, and her problem solving capabilities drove her to dedicate herself to research in immune regulation and cancer biology. Upon completing postdoctoral training at the University of Pittsburgh, she joined the research faculty at Pennsylvania State University where she focused on understanding the role of monocytes during carcinogenesis, T and NKT cells in host defense as well as tumor clearance, and B cell differentiation and their mechanisms in terms of antigen presentation and immune response to vaccination and tumors.
Intrigued by the innovative and translational research and development that in many ways overlapped with her research interests and her desire for creative problem solving, Dr. Chen joined BioMagnetic Solutions in 2018 and works closely with Dr. Liberti to expand the company’s magnetic nanoparticle technology to create new tools for immune cell therapy. Dr. Chen leads the research and development team, and oversees the product development and manufacturing of our highly sophisticated cell separation systems.
